Overview

This tutorial goes over how to add a moving background to your website using an animated GIF.

This article does not apply if your website is built on the Roostersites platform.

Steps

If you're just starting out with your website, choose a template that will really show off the moving background, like Sushi or Amelie Photography.



Choose the row you'd like to add the background to, open the row menu and select Background.



Next to the image, click change



Click Upload New Image



Click choose file and select a GIF to upload




Select the GIF from the list of uploaded images and click done.



Your site will now have an animated row background on all devices!

Considerations

Using actual video files are not supported at this time. Moving backgrounds must be in .GIF format.

We recommend using short, high-resolution gifs that loop/repeat over and over. Longer GIFs will take longer to load.
